Have you Ever been Swept Off Your Feet?

In both cases – whether the bubble was inflated with positive or negative energy – the participants in the bubble are being swept away further and further away from actual physical reality and start to see everything either ‘extremely negatively’ or ‘extremely positively’ – neither experience is grounded in reality – because the physical is neither positive or negative – it just is what it is.

And Then You Crash – Meconomics

In this little series, we’ve been investigating the phenomenon of inflation, how we in our daily lives participate in ‘inflating our reality’ and so, how we are on a personal level participating in the same principles/dynamics that we see playing out on a bigger scale when it comes to inflation, speculative bubbles and financial market crashes.

Comfort, security and nurturing are all things we wish are present when a baby comes into this world. Yet, these conditions are not a reality for many babies, as parents themselves like these things in their lives. In Pietermaritzburg, the capital of KwaZulu Natal province in South Africa, 3 to 5 babies are…

Humanity Washed Ashore

This was an excerpt of just one of the stories about the boy. Over the last few days, dozens have been written and published on various major news sites. What is more striking than the content of the posts, is the comments that are left on these articles. What is humanity’s response to such images, to such news?

Voting Fun – What does it Feel Like to Have a Say?

Now – before such increased direct political participation is a reality – let’s do a little test to see what it feels like. So – here are some mock-questions where you’re asked to give your input. Imagine that this relates to your direct reality (eg. your town) – and your answer has a weight that influences the outcome of the decision. Of course, in reality…

Day 250: Economics Nobel Prize reduced to Laughingstock

“The award was for their work on the pricing of financial assets. Together they concluded that predicting the price of stocks and bonds in the short term is virtually impossible. But they showed it is possible to forecast the broad course of prices over longer periods, such as the three to five years.
Shiller was among those who warned in the 1990s that the run-up in stock prices as part of the Internet stock bubble was the result of "irrational exuberance."

Last decade, Shiller made similar warnings about the run-up in U.S. home prices. That proved to be correct when the housing bubble burst and plunged the nation into the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression.”
http://money.cnn.com/2013/10/14/news/economy/shiller-nobel-economics/index.html?iid=s_mpm

Our expectations and standards of economics and economists really has reached an all-time low when we hand out Nobel prizes for work on how to improve one’s gambles in the financial market and for predicting failures in our economic system.
While we still haven’t mastered basic resource management, whereby we ensure that everyone has got access to those resources which safeguard human subsistence – we rather place value and importance on the speculative side of economics which only cares about profit and unsubstantiated growth at the expense of issues of real importance, such as eradicating poverty and starvation.
We entertain ourselves with the fringe side of economics while we haven’t even got the basics in place. Resource inequality and living standards disparity are skyrocketing. We’ve never had this many people living in poverty and we’ve never had this much wealth and ‘know how’ in the world.

And still, even though we have everything in place to create a world where everyone lives a life of comfort and dignity, we’re not moving the puzzle pieces in place to bring a better world into being.
Economics as a discipline has failed us in every way. Economics should be disqualified as a field from receiving any form of recognition of praise until we have put into place the basics as a foundation where everyone is able to secure their life. This should be the primary focus of economics, and so long primary structures and logistics are not in place to support life on earth – we shouldn’t bother indulging ourselves in fictional economics pertaining gamble and speculation.
If we really want to do something worthwhile in the name of economics, we would start with providing a safety net such as a Living Income Guaranteed, which practically ensures that everyone is provided with the means to live their life, without being deprived of basic necessities and living in a survival state of being - the way life is supposed to be lived.

Day 213: Equal Pay Day Every Day with Equal Money

So yesterday, the 9th of April was 'Equal Pay Day'. Hearing about it, I went 'oh cool, let me check it out' -- but then I remembered, as with many Equality points in the news and media -- that such subjects are usually limited to gender issues. Sure enough, I Google 'Equal Pay Day' and all the articles are about how much women are earning less than males in the work environment, it's about how now women are only now making what men were making in 2012, and so forth. So why are we limiting the concept of 'Equal Pay' to fairness between men and women when it comes down to remuneration for the same job -- while :

• There are 27 million people in this day and age still living as slaves.
• There's 1.3 billion people living on less than 1.25 dollars a day.
• There's over 3 billion people (that’s almost half the world) living on less than 2.50 dollars a day
• There's at least 80% of the people living on less than 10 dollars a day
• There's 250 million child labourers
• There are 22,000 children dying each day due to poverty. And they “die quietly in some of the poorest villages on earth, far removed from the scrutiny and the conscience of the world. Being meek and weak in life makes these dying multitudes even more invisible in
• And so the list goes on...

What does a pay difference matter in the light of these atrocities? Where is these people's 'one day of the year' attention?

Instead of fretting about a few percentage difference between the wage of a male and a female in the industrialized part of the world – why not make a noise about all those people who don’t even get to have a wage? Wouldn’t you agree that this is of higher importance and thus more of a priority than this gender fringe issue? I mean, if you really care about Equality and Equal Pay – you first start with making sure everyone has a Pay! As long as not everyone has an income, a way to sustain themselves – you will not get anywhere near ‘Equal Pay’, even if all males and females who are employed and have an income receive the same wage.

That is why in Equal Money Capitalism, employment forms part of a person’s basic human rights. If you really want Equal Pay, everyone would receive a wage firstly, and secondly, everyone would receive an equal wage – based on each one’s equal value as being the Capital of Life.

Let’s get Equal Pay – let’s make Equal Money happen.

Day 204: Food Monopoly and Equal Money Capitalism

For full article, please read:
GMOs, again…
http://www.b-fair.net/?p=5605

1. No health safety testing

Genetically engineered (GE) foods have never been safety tested by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), thanks to a 20-year-old policy that says it’s up to the biotech companies to determine the safety of genetically engineered (GE) foods. So while all other developed countries require safety testing for GE plants, the government agency in charge of protecting U.S. citizens lets biotech companies, who stand to make billions in profits from GE foods, conduct their own “voluntary safety consultations.”

2. No labeling

If the FDA isn’t going to test GE foods for safety, the least it could do is require labeling, so people can choose to avoid GMOs if they want. But so far, the FDA has rejected labeling under the controversial argument that GE foods are “substantially equivalent” to their non-genetically engineered counterparts.

The U.S. and Canada stand alone as the only two industrialized countries yet to provide citizens the fundamental, democratic right to know what’s in the food they eat and feed their children.

The FDA’s refusal to support this basic right stands in direct defiance of the overwhelming will of the American people. The FDA has received over a million petitions from concerned citizens demanding that GMOs be labeled – the most received on any issue in the Agency’s history. The most recent poll shows that the overwhelming majority – 82 percent – of Americans want mandatory labeling laws. But our calls for transparency continue to fall on deaf ears.

Failure to label GMOs forces consumers to serve as test subjects for a massive GMO experiment, and makes it nearly impossible to trace health issues back to their source. It also prevents small farmers, the organics industry, and truly natural food producers from competing on an equal playing field.

5. Privatizing seeds

The FDA’s love affair with Monsanto has led to the privatization, and patenting, of the very source of life: seeds. Monsanto is allowed to sell its patented genetically engineered (GE) “Roundup Ready” soybean seeds, and other patented seeds, to farmers under a contract that prohibits the farmers from saving the next-generation seeds and replanting them. Farmers who buy Monsanto’s GE seeds are required to buy new seeds every year. Monsanto then sells the same farmers its proprietary pesticides, like Roundup, that can be sprayed in huge amounts on Monsanto’s patented Roundup Ready crops, killing everything except the GE plants.

It’s a win-win for Monsanto. But everybody else loses.

In an Equal Money System, Food will be a Basic Human Right. Food will no longer be detrimentally linked to money, where money decides the availability and quality of food and transparency of information. Food will no longer be tool for Profit but a Source of Life.

Within being put central to Life -- the development and growth of food will be in a such a way to support one's Human Body and support the Equilibrium of Life on Earth.

Different ways will have to be considered in terms of what additional tools can be used as to minimize harmful effects of agriculture on the land, air and ocean -- a holistic view will have to be applied.

Foodstuffs such as seeds, will not be able to be owned by anyone other than the Earth. It comes from the Earth – it makes no sense to claim it as one’s own and to create a monopoly around it. As such, seeds will simply be available.

Food labeling will be transparent and clear - so everyone will know exactly what it is they are getting and what went into the production of the specific food.

Food security will be guaranteed. Food will fulfil its role as Life Support and will be able to be enjoyed to its fullest potential. Starvation and Famine will be eradicated and all people will have access to their specific nutritional requirements to live their life to its utmost potential.

Day 77: The Demand for Money - Part 3

I commit myself to establish a world economic system whereby the Demand for money is equalized among all Living Beings -- where one has the right to Money based on Life

I commit myself to expose that Economics is not scary at all, as all it is, is a bad joke using foreign terms -- which in itself are also jokes -- as this economic system we currently live in and as, is not real -- as it values illusion over reality and is willing to sacrifice what is real as the lives of plants, animals, humans and the planet to chase an unsustainable dream

I commit myself to the development and establishment of a Down to Earth Economic System -- which deals with REAL ISSUES such as PEOPLE STARVING

I commit myself to the establishment of an Economic System which can be taught in school since it won't be a failure as it actually achieves to eliminate poverty, starvation and War -- as this is the only honourable type of economic system worth teaching as passing on to our children

I commit myself to expose that our current Economic System is a complete failure and should, just because of that, be withdrawn from being taught until we have a proper Economic System in place which we can be proud of

I commit myself to show that our current economic system only cares about humans as far as the thickness of their wallet goes and will forsaken everyone else

I commit myself to show that our current economic system is completely inadequate and that we do not have to put up with its inadequacy

I commit myself to the establishment of an Equal Money System so all may be Equal Participants within the Economy -- as it should be since the Economy affects each and everyone of us

Day 45: Homo Economicus & The Invisible Hand - Part 3

Also read Creation's Journey to Life, Day 93: Unconditional Love Explained for additional insight into the point of how we've accepted and allowed ourselves to define ourselves as humans from the starting point of Self-Interest and where we've taken our nature as Self-Interest for granted from the perspective that this nature must be Perfect by 'default' -- and where we've accepted 'Unconditional Love' to mean that we will accept another's self-interest and not stand in their way -- instead of living and breathing true Unconditional Love where we will stand in the way of those who value their own Self-Interest over the well-being of others and establish a world where ALL are supported to Live a Life worth living

I commit myself to the redefinition of the human being as a rational being whereby this time ‘rationality’ will be in accordance with common sense – whereby the human takes in a position of responsibility towards self and others as self and acts and behaves in a way which is Best for All

I commit myself to expose that the current way ‘rationality’ is being presented is not ‘rational’ in fact, as it is based within self-interest as fear – and is thus irrational, as there is no directive principle but an impulse/incentive driven human who can only consider himself

I commit myself to expose that the human condition is not perfect by default -- but is in fact flawed, which becomes apparent when we look at history and the current state of the world where there is no perfection visible but the perfect mess we've created of this world and ourselves

I commit myself to expose that self-interest has in fact no real value, as self-interest is really only fear -- fear of death -- where we've accepted and allowed ourselves to believe that there is not enough for everyone, and so we will lie, cheat and deceive to make sure that we are not the ones ending up with nothing -- and in the process, cause others to end up with nothing -- while this is completely unnecessary as there is enough for everyone if only we were to value Life over Wants and Desires

I commit myself to the establishment of a new Value System, as the Equal Money System, where we value Life over wants and desires and self-interest -- and thus create a world of co-operation where all work together towards One interest as What's Best for All Life, where all can in fact have enough and where no-one has to suffer because some decided they want more than what they need just because "they can"

I commit myself to expose that we are not special and that we as humans are not worth more than any other Life form -- as we are the only ones who will use and abuse other Life forms for our own entertainment which actually makes us less than the Life forms as animals and plants we abuse -- and within that I commit myself to the end of all abuse for the sake of a deluded species as the human race and establish a world system which respects Life in all its forms where humans take in their role as custodians / stewards towards the environment, the animals and planet Earth

I commit myself to show that we do not need to be self-interested beings and that human beings can in fact change -- which can be seen by reading and viewing the progress of those who've walked and are still walking the Desteni process, where within the realization that if we can create a perfect fuck up, we can also create a perfect paradise on Earth -- and with this we start within ourselves as our human nature and extend this change into and as the Economic System where we change the Economic System of Perfect Inequality to an Economic System of Perfect Equality and support ourselves and other Life forms as ourselves within the understanding that we are in fact One within the physical reality we share

I commit myself to expose the illusion of Free Choice as it currently exists within the world -- which is used to keep us contained and complacent and keep us from realising that we are not living up to our best potential and thus I commit myself to the end of the current world Economic System which uses the illusion of 'Free Choice' to keep people entertained and have them believe that they're getting "the best deal" and that following one's self-interest will always  result in receiving a reward

I commit myself to wake up humans and get us all back down to Earth so we can realise what really matters, which is the physical dimension of our existence which is currently in need of urgent attention as half the population in the world is being physically deprived of basic goods and services to live a life of sustenance, while there is plenty to go around -- and so I commit myself to the restructuring of our economic system so we may distribute our goods and services in a way where it reaches all Life and not just those with money

I commit myself to expose that we make up the rules and that all the systems within the World where the system of Economics is just one of them, is a system/rule made up through agreement, through us humans -- and so we can alter and change this agreement and re-align our rules to support what's Best for All where the Equal Money System is the practical implementation of such Life Support for All

13 July 2012

Day 42: What is Economics – Part 3

I commit myself to debunk all beliefs about economics as what people “think” it is about and what it is – so we can get on a common ground and develop an Economic System which is Best for All Life

I commit myself to show that economics is not just about ‘capitalism’ but about certain questions and choices we as a society have to make in relation to resources, their distribution and the principle which guides the direction of resources – where currently we have opted for an economic system of inequality which distributes according to money and human wants instead of an economic system of equality which distributes according to Life as the only Real Value

I commit myself to expose how our current definition of economics is unacceptable – and that it requires to be re-aligned / re-defined according to what is Best for All – and not just what’s Best for a Few

I commit myself to expose the Human Nature for what it is, which is reflected within the Nature of the Economic System which values wants and desires over Life – preferring unsustainability over sustainability at the cost of half the population in terms of Humans – and countless animal and plant lives

I commit myself to show that economics is not merely an ‘objective science’ but a value system which we decided upon which drives the money circulation within this world – and since it is based merely on values – we can decide what these values are and change them so they are aligned to the Principle of what is Best for All

I commit myself to show that our current economic system is unsustainable and will inevitably come to its end – the only question which remains is whether we will end it before it ends us

I commit myself to show that all the suffering in the world brought about through economics directly or indirectly is in fact deliberate – as the starting point as the definition of economics is specific within what is being valued – and since we currently do not value Life, this is reflected within our economic system which leads to millions suffering in the name of Desire

I commit myself to expose that the suffering as poverty and starvation within this world did not come about because of a lack in physical resources – but a lack in the will of Humans to take care of one another as Humans

I commit myself to the redefinition of economics where economics is about the practical consideration in terms of how many resources are available, and how many beings need to be taken care of – and distribute them accordingly within the principle of what is Best for All – where Needs are prioritized over Wants

I commit myself to an Equal Money system which is the Embodiment of What is Best for All Life as Living Principle in Application – where no-one will Suffer or Starve in a World of Plenty

Day 39: Establishing Commitment - Can't Hide from Economics - Part 3

This blog is a continuation of :
Day 37: Can’t Hide from Economics - Part 1
Day 38: Realising Responsibility - Can’t Hide from Economics – Part 2

I commit myself to take full responsibility for myself and existence as myself within the realisation/understanding that it is in fact me – an extension which I have created of myself through my acceptances and allowances

I commit myself to rid myself of all likes and dislikes within myself within the realisation/understanding that these are illusionary opinions with no real value and keep me from seeing and working with what is really here, which is the physical as the Earth and all the living beings living on Earth

I commit myself to expose how we all have ever lived within and through Memory and have never in fact worked with the physical as what is here – with the Earth and the beings – where we only ever cared and tended to our mind needs as wants and desires – and never stopped to look around to see what really matters, which is the basic needs of everyone and everything on this Planet which we should all take care off, together – as we all share this physical plane and are responsible for the way we’ve accepted and allowed ourselves to create, form and mould the physical into what it is today

I commit myself to walk through the Veil of Illusion as the belief that our current economic system is the best we can do – where I commit myself to let go of these illusions and show / commit myself to a New World as the Equal Money System – the first economic system designed to take care of all equally – the way it should have always been

I commit myself to the end of all opinion so we may all agree – at last – that what matter is the Real Character as the Physical Body of all beings on Earth – and that we are all Equal within being Physical and should all be looked after and look after one another equally

I commit myself to engage myself and study economics within the realisation/understanding that money is the blood that flows through the network called economics which decides who lives and who dies – where the current economic system is distributing the life flow unequally – and thus this requires to be corrected so all may Live Life as what is Best for All

I commit myself to expose and show how everyone’s lives have been defined and controlled by economics – and that one cannot afford to not be ‘interested’ within economics – as this is like saying ‘I don’t care about whether all organs in my body receive sufficient blood to function’ – as this implies the inevitable demise of the individual as the Opinionated Character

I commit myself to show that the only thing which is Real within this existence is this Physical Plane which we can all touch and share together – while thoughts, emotions and feelings are illusionary figments of the imagination which come to an end at Death anyway – so why hold on to them

I commit myself to take responsibility for myself and the world and myself within taking on the economic system in the world – within the realisation that unless I do this I will always be enslaved

I commit myself to study and participate within the world of economics – so I may learn about myself and an aspect of the world as myself as the distribution of Life – so I may become aware of what I have accepted and allowed, forgive myself and correct myself and the world as myself within every moment of Breath – so we can finally establish a world which is Best for All, for REAL

Day 38: Realising Responsibility - Can’t Hide from Economics – Part 2

This is continuation of Day 37: Can’t Hide from Economics – Part 1, read this blog first for context

I forgive myself that I haven’t accepted and allowed myself to take full responsibility for myself and existence as myself – as it is the outflow of my acceptances and allowances and is thus in fact me

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to ‘not care’ within not wanting to be diverted from ‘my life path’ and ‘what I like’ – where I do not want to step away from doing that which I have defined within myself as that which I “like” and will avoid and ignore all points which I have defined within myself as that which I “do not like” – without ever seeing/realizing/understanding that these likes and dislikes came about through memory – where I for instance did not understand something which was being said on the news about economics and within that moment decided that “economics is not for me”, and where from this moment forth, this is what economics is to me – where I will only every see/view/interact/participate with economics with the preset idea that “it is not for me” – and thus never actually deal with economics itself, but only ever with my idea as my opinion which I bring up within myself each time I am faced with a point in relation to economics

I forgive myself that I haven’t accepted and allowed myself to see and realise, that the “decision” to ‘not like’ economics, was never a real decision made by me, but a preference which emerged from memory: where I in the past reacted to not understanding economics, and where the reaction which emerged there in itself was also the result of memory before that – and thus I have never ever really lived or made any decisions, but only ever lived as memory within and as value judgments towards everything and everyone in my world – where within every moment that I am not here breathing as the Real Character which is the Physical Body which is part of this entire Physical Existence – I am only living as memories and creating new memories through memories and within that never ever participating and interacting with the real world – as I am the prisoner in Plato’s cave – only seeing the shadows as my opinions, ideas and beliefs – and never ever seeing, feeling, touching the real thing – as that which really matters, which is this Physical Earth and all physical bodies on Earth – and ensuring its optimum functioning

I forgive myself that I haven’t accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that personal likes and dislikes created through memory are really irrelevant when one’s goal is to change the world, including self – as personal likes and dislikes as opinion is that which divides us and moves us away from that which we all share: which is the physical -- and our Human Physical Bodies as the Real Characters – and within that I forgive myself that I haven’t accepted and allowed myself to see and realise the importance of taking care of all beings Real Character equally as the Physical plane we all share, which is the ONLY real reality and the only reality which should be of importance to each and every single one of us

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to try and attempt to hide from economics – which is like trying to avoid seeing my reflection in reflective surfaces – as what I am trying to hide from is myself, as this very world and existence came about through our agreement to give more value to thought as energy, as entertainment, instead of focusing on the only real value which is Life, here as the physical

I forgive myself that I haven’t accepted and allowed myself to see and realise – that within me not being in conflict with the economic system and the world, I am in fact agreeing and giving it permission to exist

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to believe that I can afford to ‘not know about economics’, within the belief that economics does not affect my Li(f)e as wants, needs and desires – without seeing/realising/understanding that economics within this world is that which defines, shapes and forms my life – but since I was born in an environment with money to sustain myself, I don’t care about anything or anyone else, as I am in a position to entertain my thoughts and follow the energies as feelings and emotions within me – drifting away from the real world and the real suffering taking place every single day

I forgive myself that I haven’t accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that that which really matters is the Real Character within and as the Physical, and within that I forgive myself that I haven’t accepted and allowed myself to have seen/realized my responsibility within ensuring that all Real Characters as Physical Bodies are equally taken care off as myself – and thus I must make it my quest to ensure that all physical bodies as myself are equally taken care off through educating myself on the system which drives and defines this wellbeing through the channelling of money as our economic system – so I may see/realise/understand how it actually operates and correct the flaws within the economic system as I correct them within myself within taking responsibility and embracing the Real Character as the Physical – to make sure that we establish an Economic System of Care, which ensures everyone’s wellbeing within the understanding of that which really matters, which is that which is always Here as this Physical Existence – while thoughts, emotions, feelings, energy, likes and dislikes end at the point of Death, and can thus be completely disregarded

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to want to place the responsibility of fixing the Mess we created on Earth upon the shoulder of others – without seeing and realising that we created this Mess through collective agreement, and thus it will require collective agreement Breath by Breath to Clean up our Mess as we re-create the current World of Abuse to a World that’s Best for All – which is the only Creation worthwhile investing in. And within that I forgive myself that I haven’t accepted and allowed myself to realise my responsibility and live my responsibility Breath by Breath within correcting myself and this existence as myself – the same way as I moment by moment through only ever living within and through Memories and various different Characters, created this Mess in the first Place

I forgive myself that I haven’t accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that within wanting others to “fix the problem” – I am in fact signing away my right to Life, as within the statement of not wanting to take responsibility – I state that I do not care – and thus, others should not care about me – and within that place myself within the position of slave where I am bound to go through whatever it is others decide for me, and within that I have no right to complain, because after all: I signed away my right to Life

I forgive myself that I haven’t accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that living a Li(f)e where I do not take responsibility and am an absolute slave by my own doing – is not a nice way to go through life – and thus I stop and I embrace responsibility within the realization/understanding that, that which I require to take responsibility for is Equal and One to and as my nature as that which I require to face and correct within myself – which is the only way we can ever correct this World for real, anything less would be a delusion – and so I/we walk, Breath by Breath, correcting ourselves and this moment with every Breath we take as our Commitment to Life

Day 22: Daily Mass-Massacre of Children Happening under Our Watch

"Some 21,000 children die every day around the world.

That is equivalent to:

  • 1 child dying every 4 seconds
  • 14 children dying every minute
  • A 2011 Libya conflict-scale death toll every day
  • A 2010 Haiti earthquake occurring every 10 days
  • A 2004 Asian Tsunami occurring every 11 days
  • An Iraq-scale death toll every 19–46 days
  • Just under 7.6 million children dying every year
  • Some 92 million children dying between 2000 and 2010
The silent killers are poverty, hunger, easily preventable diseases and illnesses, and other related causes. Despite the scale of this daily/ongoing catastrophe, it rarely manages to achieve, much less sustain, prime-time, headline coverage."

Anup Shah, Today, around 21,000 children died around the world, Global Issues, Updated: September 24, 2011

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to not realise that while the casualties in wars and conflicts and earthquakes and tsunamis are considered huge tragedies that receive major attention on the news, the fact that 21,000 children die every day barely ever gets mentioned.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to pretend to care by pondering over huge catastrophes when they are mentioned and given attention on the news, yet not give a damn about the millions of dying children just because they don't mention it very often on TV - proving that I don't actually care about people and their well-being, but only pay attention when they mention tragedies that could also happen to me - like a major conflict breaking out or natural disasters occurring, which shows that I don't really care about the people who experience the tragedies right now, but that I am worried about my own ass being on the line one day.

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to question a world and a system wherein the equivalent of a major earthquake killing 21,000 young children occurs every day to which the world remains mute.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to not question a system wherein the mass-murdering of children through malnutrition, starvation and disease is barely given any attention, except on global meetings or concerts, and even then, as soon as those campaigns or meetings conclude, the media coverage disappears again and everyone continues going about their daily lives while quietly children continue to die - TO DIE!

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to realise that if my children were dying of hunger, malnutrition and disease, I would stand up and make sure adequate help is provided - yet when it concerns someone else's children on the other side of the world, it's suddenly not an issue anymore and apparently not worth my time and effort.

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to realise that if I am incapable of caring for a child, no matter whose child it is, then it proves I am incapable of unconditional love and thus not fit to be a parent.

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to realise that apart from the problem of children dying every day is not mentioned, the fact that wealthy countries are a part of the problem is mentioned even less.

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to realise that if I think that those children dying over there is not my problem that this is an indication that I have to urgently educate myself on how this world works, because in our current economic system, 21,000 children Have to die daily in order for the wealthy to maintain their lifestyle.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to condemn child sacrifices in religious rituals without realising that we sacrifice 21,000 children every day in the name of capitalism.

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to see and realise how ridiculous the argument 'we've got nothing better' sounds in terms of why we accept capitalism, in the face of these disasters.

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to realise the extent of brainwashing that is going on when the only times we hear about child deaths in developing countries it is in the context of promises of pledges from the wealthy, powerful countries to the poorer ones who apparently receive abundant goodwill, without even mentioning

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to see and realise that the mainstream media is perpetuating poverty and as such a cause of it.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to stay quiet about dying children in the media because of not wanting to make people feel bad with continuous depressing stories and therefore rather play entertainment or good news because happy people are happy buyers.

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to realise that the reason why the media is not performing its role as a watchdog of humanity, is once again because of money - because if the same story is repeated every day this may result in lower television viewing ratings, which will in turn have consequences for advertisers whose adds will gain less exposure.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to only play sensationalism on TV because then the viewing rates will be high and corporations will make big bucks while the population remains blissfully oblivious to the reality of the world we live in.

I commit myself to expose the atrocious consequences of our current economic system where thousands upon thousands of children are allowed to die every day.

I commit myself to show how the capitalistic system can never work for everyone and is therefore unacceptable and needs to be revised with utmost urgency since every day the capitalistic economic system runs the world 21,000 more children die.

I commit myself to educate people on what it means to truly care and unconditionally love where it doesn't matter who is suffering - it is unacceptable and action must be taken to stop the abuse.

I commit myself to establish an economic system that makes sure each child is fed properly and receives the best health care in order to eradicate deaths from starvation, malnutrition and easily treatable diseases in children.

I commit myself to establish an economic system where each child will receive the best of care so that it doesn't matter where the child was born or who its parents are - all are equal in the face of life.

I commit myself to transform media in a way that its only concern is unbiased record keeping and reporting of events and history, from the starting point of learning from events with the goal of perfecting Life for All.

I commit myself to transform media from an entertainment money-making business into an educational instrument through which we are able to continuously assess how we as humanity are walking as a group and in relation to our environment as the plants and animal kingdom, in order to ensure the best possible life for all living beings on Earth.

Day 20: The Insanity of Economics - Food Aid Does Not Help the Poor

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to see and realise the insanity of how the economy works if a country wherein half the population is starving, exports 65% of its food produce to richer nations.

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to realise that the rules by which the game of economics is currently played is actually killing billions through hunger and starvation because it makes more 'economic sense' for local farmers in developing countries to sell their crops to other countries that can actually pay the higher price of their crops than to feed the local starving community.

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to realise that donating food to developing countries does not serve them and only serves to suppress my own guilt for accepting an economic system to create a situation where people starve in a world of plenty - because poor people will accept donated food or food that is sold at a very low price from donating countries rather than to buy food produced by local farmers, which completely destroys the local agricultural economy, leaving the developing countries dependent upon the rich to feed them, while there is sufficient and rich arable land to cultivate their own food and farmers with the know-how to do it.

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to realise that in my attempt to suppress my guilt through a quick-fix of donating food rather than looking for and supporting long-lasting sustainable solutions - I am actually killing people.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to believe that donating food to the poor starving children is a noble act because I believe that this is what starving people need - without looking at the actual implications and consequences of food aid and how it merely perpetuates dependency on rich countries and therefore perpetuates underdevelopment, including poverty and starvation.

"Some years back, a keynote speaker at the International Famine Centre at Cork, Ireland, detailed how maize was loaded on ships bound for Britain at the height of the great Irish potato famine that killed some 1.5 million people more than 150 years ago. He paused and then lamented: “I wonder what kind of people lived at that time who were not even remotely offended at the sight of millions dying of hunger in the same village where the ships were being loaded.”"
— Devinder Sharma, Africa’s Tragedy; Famine as Commerce, November 10, 2002

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to see and realise the insanity of the current economic system if a country where 1.5 million people are dying of hunger, loads ships filled with maize and exports them to Britain.

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to realise that the same kind of people live in our time under the same economic principles, where countries with starving populations export their food produce to other nations because the own starving population is too poor to pay for it.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to force poor countries to remove any import tarrifs and trade barriers in order to receive financial assistance in the form of loans to aid their economy and then dump excess food produce in those countries, destroying the local food markets and aiding only the donor and exporting countries.

"Of the 830 million hungry people worldwide, a third of them live in India. Yet in 1999, the Indian government had 10 million tons of surplus food grains: rice, wheat, and so on. In the year 2000, that surplus increased to almost 60 million tons — most of it left in the granaries to rot. Instead of giving the surplus food to the hungry, the Indian government was hoping to export the grain to make money. It also stopped buying grain from its own farmers, leaving them destitute. The farmers, who had gone into debt to purchase expensive chemical fertilizers and pesticides on the advice of the government, were now forced to burn their crops in their fields.

At the same time, the government of India was buying grain from Cargill and other American corporations, because the aid India receives from the World Bank stipulates that the government must do so. This means that today India is the largest importer of the same grain it exports. It doesn’t make sense — economic or otherwise
."
— Anuradha Mittal, True Cause of World Hunger, Institute for Food and Development Policy, February 2002

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to realise and see that starvation and hunger is not a result of a lack of food, but a lack of money and a sly game of politics that serves the economic powers in the world.

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to realise that charity and food donations will never stop world hunger - only a new economic system wherein each one is provided for unconditionally as the starting-point for the distribution of resources will make an end to this atrocity.

I commit myself to show how charity and food donations to poor countries don't help poor countries get richer, but instead dooms them into a downward spiral of dependency and helplessness.

I commit myself to show the hypocrisy of rich nations for demanding of developing countries to remove all trade barriers as a way to stimulate economic growth, while those rich nations themselves used extreme protectionism to gain the wealth they have today.

I commit myself to show the insanity of the economic system where in order to survive, farmers sell their crops to nations who don't need them while allowing the local population to starve.

I commit myself to show how slavery is very much a contemporary problem where poor countries are literally economically enslaved to the rich to do their bidding.

I commit myself to supporting and establishing a new economic system where common sense replaces insanity through founding the economy on the principle of what's best for all rather than 'every man for themselves'.

Day 19 - Starvation is Murder - Part 2: Feedback

This blog is a response to a comment made on "Day 17: Starvation is Murder".
Thanks for a really interesting article and really highlights how possible it could be to eradicate poverty and the suffering that comes with it. I wonder if it would be useful to highlight which are public and private expenditures as public expenditure can be directed from one thing to another with policy and the amount stays the same as it come from a fixed source eg. tax. Whereas private expenditure is often individual and variable, for example if everyone stopped buying cosmetics everyone in the cosmetics and attached industries would lose there jobs, stop paying tax, take up welfare/services and so there would not necessarily be the same amount of money left to transfer to other more important things. Anyway I would be really interested to hear your thought on this

It would make a difference in terms of where the money comes from -- public or private expenditure -- as you pointed out. Though, within this blog I merely touched upon one of the many aspects within our current economic system which reveals the values we as a society place upon certain outcomes or goods -- which when reflecting upon it, are quite irrational from a broader perspective when looking at the current state of the world, and the abhorrent conditions many find themselves within.

When looking at the issue from a different angle, it does not really matter where the money comes from (public or private), as the essential point is that we are living in an economic system with distorted values. The expenditures listed, reflect the dynamics between supply and demand which is one of the base fundamental systems in our economy. The problem already starts right there, where a person's demand is necessarily linked with their ability to pay for the goods/services wanted or needed (and the fact that there's no differentiating between a 'want' or a 'need' in itself is also problematic). This results in skewed supply and demand curves which determine how much and at what price particular goods and services should be provided -- as they only answer to the demand/wants/needs of those who have money and does not reflect the needs/wants from the whole population in question. This would then (partially) explain the expenditure figures. If everyone's wants and needs were taken as a valid demand, no matter what the state is of a person's income -- these figures would be quite different and the various industries, sectors and markets involved would then restructure themselves according to these new sets of values.

This in itself is however not a complete solution, as now obviously those with low income / no income still dont have the means of accessing the goods and services they need/want. For this a system ought to be in place, where the Basic Income Grant is a cool first point of implementation, to provide those people with a disposable income. Such a system would however still not be a permanent solution, as there are still so many other points in place in our current economic system which would ultimately render this change ineffective -- yet it's a good start to begin with.

The solution that I propose is that of the Equal Money System, which is a more broader encompassing perspective/solution to our current economic system (than for instance the BIG porposal). You can read up about it here: www.equalmoney.org and feel free to join the forum @ www.equalmoney.org/forum for discussion.
