Have you Ever been Swept Off Your Feet?

In both cases – whether the bubble was inflated with positive or negative energy – the participants in the bubble are being swept away further and further away from actual physical reality and start to see everything either ‘extremely negatively’ or ‘extremely positively’ – neither experience is grounded in reality – because the physical is neither positive or negative – it just is what it is.

And Then You Crash – Meconomics

In this little series, we’ve been investigating the phenomenon of inflation, how we in our daily lives participate in ‘inflating our reality’ and so, how we are on a personal level participating in the same principles/dynamics that we see playing out on a bigger scale when it comes to inflation, speculative bubbles and financial market crashes.

Welcoming New Life with Living Income Guaranteed

Comfort, security and nurturing are all things we wish are present when a baby comes into this world. Yet, these conditions are not a reality for many babies, as parents themselves like these things in their lives. In Pietermaritzburg, the capital of KwaZulu Natal province in South Africa, 3 to 5 babies are…

Humanity Washed Ashore

This was an excerpt of just one of the stories about the boy. Over the last few days, dozens have been written and published on various major news sites. What is more striking than the content of the posts, is the comments that are left on these articles. What is humanity’s response to such images, to such news?

Voting Fun – What does it Feel Like to Have a Say?

Now – before such increased direct political participation is a reality – let’s do a little test to see what it feels like. So – here are some mock-questions where you’re asked to give your input. Imagine that this relates to your direct reality (eg. your town) – and your answer has a weight that influences the outcome of the decision. Of course, in reality…

Tomorrowland – Would you get a Pin?

Just saw the Disney movie ‘Tomorrowland’. The following passage is quite interesting and worth looking at:
“Let’s imagine… if you’d glimpse the future, you are frightened by what you saw, what would you do with that information? You’d go to who? Politicians? Captains of industry? And how would you convince them? With data? With Facts? Good luck. The only facts they won’t challenge are the ones that keep the wheels greased and the dollars rolling in. But what if there was a way of skipping the middle man and putting the critical news directly into everyone’s head? The probability of wide-spread annihilation kept going up. The only way to stop it, was to show it. To scare people straight, because what reasonable human being wouldn’t be galvanized by the potential destruction of everything they’ve ever known or loved? To save civilization, I would show its collapse.

But how do you think this vision was received? How do you think people responded to the prospect of imminent doom? They gobbled it up like a chocolate éclair. They didn’t fear their demise, they repackaged it. It could be enjoyed as video-games as TV-shows, books, movies, the entire world whole-heartedly embraced the apocalypse and sprinted towards it with gleeful abandon.

Meanwhile, your Earth was crumbling all around you. You’ve got simultaneous epidemics of obesity and starvation – explain that one. Bees and butterflies start to disappear the glaciers melt, algae blooms all around you, the coalmine canaries are dropping dead and you won’t take the hint.

In every moment, there is the possibility of a better future, but you people won’t believe it. And because you won’t believe it, you won’t do what is necessary to make it a reality. So, you dwell on this so terrible future, you resign yourselves to it for one reason: Because that future doesn’t ask anything of you today.

So, yes, we saw the iceberg, we warned the Titanic, but you all just steered for it anyway, full steam ahead. Why? Because you want to sink. You gave up. And that’s not the monitor’s fault – that’s yours.”

It still puzzles me why the character speaking these words was portrayed as the villain – wasn’t he right on the money? Isn’t that exactly what is happening today? Some say the movie is about imagination, about feeding positive thoughts rather than negative thoughts – but it’s not really. The movie has one simple message: Are we giving up when seeing the world we’ve created with all its unintended ‘ooopsy’ consequences – or are we going to realize that if we want a different future, we have to actually create it. Positive thoughts or feelings won’t do. It is actions that are needed, our behavior that needs to change, our demands that need to change – from destruction to construction.

So ask yourself: what do I DO each day to create a different world?

Day 229: Can Equality only be Achieved through Inequality? | Equality and Human Rights – Part 7

Within this blog and the next one we will be looking at two statements with regards to the perception of the necessity of inequality within society and the world:

Statement 01:

Some inequalities are surely also necessary for the maintenance and functioning of a social order. For example, complex, modern, industrialised societies are characterized by a division of labour, many different functions and roles and a range of differing skills, which are necessary for the existence of such societies.

Statement 02:

Equality would have to be imposed again by government by redistributing income from the productive to the less productive. If this strategy continued, the productive would eventually lose the incentive to produce more than they required for their immediate needs, and ultimately there would be nothing to redistribute. All would eventually be equal in poverty.

Here we are looking at economic justifications for the existence of inequality, where it is no longer a matter of whether we should promote equality or not – but where inequality requires to be protected as an important drive force in society which ‘holds everything together’. Equality is no more a moral ideal, but a threat which requires to be fended off at all cost.

Within this blog, we will work with Statement 01.

Here the author expresses the belief that inequality is necessary for the functioning of a social order, especially in the case of modern, industrialized societies which are characterized by features such as the division of labour, distinction in functions and roles, etc. Most, if not all societies are now marked by these type of ‘order’, even a global level where some countries are subordinate/superior to others in their position due to the nature of their relationships among one another.

Obviously, when you have a society which in its very essence and fabric is based on the notion of inequality – which permeates every element within the structure of society as the ruling principle by which society lives – then OBVIOUSLY the elimination of Inequality and pursuit of Equality will demolish the order and functioning of the day, when that very order is the representation of Inequality. All that means, is that we have to come up with a new order, a new structure – and this time base it on the principle of Equality, where the principle of Equality determines the structure of society and permeates every element in every possible way. Society will still exist, people will still exist – all we are changing and re-defining are the Relationships within Society to take on a New Form. Thus, the destruction of that particular order is not necessarily a ‘bad thing’ which we should all fear. It is simply a matter of breaking down a dysfunctional system and rebuilding a system based on Equality as the Respect for all Life.

This also doesn’t mean that we have to go through/walk through an Apocalyptic / End of Days type of scenario where everything is literally being destroyed to ground zero as the infrastructures that are already here before we can ‘rebuild’ society. That would just be a waste of energy, time and resources. When we speak of the destruction and resurrection of society, we are not talking about tearing down buildings and looting towns and whatever other images may come to mind when ‘the destruction of society’ is mentioned. The actual physical structures are not the problems and are in fact very useful for future usage and their physical destruction would only be to everyone’s detriment.
The point which requires to be addressed is the order and the relationships we’ve accepted and allowed ourselves to live. This will not happen overnight and will have to be a gradual implementation/transformation we all have to walk and adjust to. We thus do not promote any kind of Revolution or other means if implementing change which is physically destructive and violent. The Equal Money System / Equal Money Capitalism will follow the Political Route to be voted into power as a collective decision and agreement.

Day 133: Mayans Demand End of Doomsday Myth as it is just a Money Scam

As 21 December 2012 is coming closer, which is supposed to mark the end of an era which has lead to a boom in doomsday literature and speculation -- tourism to Guatemala and other Southern American states is increasing.

“It’s offensive, it’s an insult, and it is contradictory for indigenous people to continue to be steeped in poverty while public funds are squandered on celebrating,” activist Ricardo Cajas, of the non-governmental Guatemalan Council of Maya Organisations (COMG), told IPS.

For the event alone, tourism industry authorities have announces that 15 ceremonies will be held, which includes a major multimedia presentation on the legacy of the ancient Maya civilization.

This doomsday hype must be really good business, as the government has already spent 8.5 million dollars on the preparations for the ceremonies surrounding the event.

Imagine, if 8.5 million dollars has already been spent -- this must mean some serious revenue for the government. And for what? For a stupid idea that the world is going to end, an illusionary idea which we've created and entertained ourselves with, while in the meantime, real people, like the native Maya Indians alive today: are suffering.

While they make up for the majority of the population, there needs have been continued to be disregarded, leaving them live a life ranging from extreme poverty to just being able to get by.

"Around 80 percent of Guatemala’s farmland is in the hands of just five percent of farmers. But 61 percent of the population is rural and 80 percent of the mainly indigenous rural population is poor, according to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)."

While everyone is so focused on this romanticized ideas about the ancient Mayans and their wisdom, there's actually people suffering, because we care more about entertaining ourselves with a doomsday hype rather than looking for practical solutions to establish Heaven on Earth for everyone: there must be something seriously wrong with humanity.

Pop the bubble of illusion and stop distracting yourself with a one day hype which is going to turn out to be just another day (except that it's going to be one COSTLY one, just for the sake of entertaining people who have too much money to spend and too little integrity to create a world that's Best for All).

Instead, spend your time and energy towards and actual solution, such as the Equal Money System. Don't wait for doomsday for our atrocious world to end -- we can decide to stop what we are doing and create a system that is Best for all.

Even the Mayans living today demand an end to the doomsday myth:

"We are speaking out against deceit, lies and twisting of the truth, and turning us into folklore-for-profit. They are not telling the truth about time cycles," charged Felipe Gomez, leader of the Maya alliance Oxlaljuj Ajpop.

Day 11: Economics is a System of Values -- Not a Science

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to believe and present economics to be a science which is set in stone and within that portray the Capitalistic System to be THE System and THE ONLY WAY it can be within the world

I forgive myself that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to remember from Economy101 that economics is not a science but a value system which reflects what humans value on Earth -- and is in no way set in stone

I forgive myself that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to remember from economy 101 that economics in its essence pertains to the management of resources and the particular questions any economic system must answer to in terms of what to produce, how to produce it and who gets what -- and within that I forgive myself that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that Capitalism is only one of the ways of answering this question, but is not necessarily THE WAY of answering these questions

I forgive myself that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that there is no right or wrong within answering those three basic questions -- but only that which either works for All or doesn't -- and where Capitalism has revealed through the ages to not be an answer that works Best for All

I forgive myself that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that the way Capitalism answers these questions is rather unsatisfactory as is evident in a world where a majority starve and suffer
I forgive myself that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to consider other ways of answering the three basic questions of economics such as that of the Equal Money System

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to defend the current World Economic System as if it's "the only way", while the current way of the world economic system merely reflects the values we as humans hold dear which reveals to us our inherent evil nature and the inherent evil within the economists who designed such a system

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to believe that these values are unchangeable and that thus Capitalism is the best we can do

I forgive myself that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to see and realise the extent of limitation I am accepting and allowing myself and the world to exist as, through stating that "this is the best we can do" -- which basically implies we are not the "ingenious superior race" we believe ourselves to be and that bugs such as bees are thus in fact superior to human beings in every way

I forgive myself that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that if our current economic system is a system of values, and this is what has become of Earth and the human race as a result of this system -- that this means that our values and who we are as the human race is inherently evil

I forgive myself that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that our economic system is not a system of value but a system of disregard and abuse

I forgive myself that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that the current way of what we value and what we don't value is in fact not working for everyone and that since we are all living on the same planet Earth, and since no-one owns planet Earth and its resources except for planet Earth itself -- that this is very unreasonable to say the least

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to have designed a system of values called Capitalism which values an idea, the idea of money, over something real -- which is Life

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to create a system where I value a figment of my imagination more than that which I can touch here in the physical reality

I commit myself to the re-evaluation of our current values and our current economic system which is a reflection of our values as to realign these values to what is Best for All Life

I commit myself to changing the current World Economic System where Money is valued over Life to a world Equal Money System where Life is valued in fact and all are taken care off Equally

I commit myself to exposing the economic system and its perverse values for what it is so we may see what it is that we have accepted and allowed ourselves to become which is Evil and that this needs to be reversed to Life

I commit myself to remind the economists within the world that our current economic system is not set in stone as it is merely a system of values which can be changed

I commit myself to expose the atrocities that have been created and allowed within the world through the working of a broken economic system which does not serve all Life but only has regard for itself and its own infinite growth

I commit myself to expose the simple truth that our current World Economic System is unsustainable as basic math can tell you that a system of infinite growth cannot co-exst in a world of finite resources

I commit myself to expose that the belief that natural resources can be substituted with human capital and that we should thus not worry about the depletion of natural resource is completely bullocks and will lead our world into destruction

I commit myself to the establishment of an Equal Money System which will be an actual system of sustainability which ALL can enjoy
